Application Deadline

We are accepting applications until 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Monday, April 15, 2024, and will be reviewing them in the order they’re received.

Application steps

Step 1: Gather the following materials

  • A brief letter (250-word maximum) that describes the following:
    • Your relevant experience, transferable skills, knowledge of the field and commitment to professional growth
    • Your most recent educational experience and level of preparation for college-level coursework
  • A resume that highlights how your education and any applicable experience fulfill the program’s admission requirements

Step 2: Apply

Complete your application and submit your letter and resume online.

Next, pay the $50 nonrefundable application fee. In one to two business days, you’ll get an email with a link to pay your fee.

After Applying

After submitting your certificate application, the UW Department of Construction Management will send you a supplemental application form so that they can assess your previous experience and knowledge in these foundational topics:

  • Reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings and specifications
  • Various construction methods, sequence of construction, materials and their uses

We’ll contact you within two weeks of the application deadline to let you know if you’ve been accepted to the program and if you've been assigned to regular (21 credits) or advanced (16 credits) standing.

If you’re accepted, we’ll send you details about your first-term course, including information on how to register and pay your course fees. To ensure your spot in class, we recommend that you register by the priority registration deadline, which is four weeks before class begins. After that time, we may release your seat to another student. The final registration deadline is two days before the first class meeting.
